Samantha started sailing at a young age and progressed through the Sail Canada program to become the Head Instructor at the National Yacht Club (2010-2013) while attending university. Upon graduation from the U of G, she enrolled in the Marine Navigation Program at Georgian College. During her cadet training period, she sailed on the Chi-Cheemaun, and a chemical tanker- the Esta Desgagnes throughout the Great Lakes and lower Arctic. Upon obtaining her officer of the watch credentials she sailed with Holland America Line on the Westerdam and Volendam- cruiseships sailing throughout the world. A few years ago she joined JRCC Trenton as a Maritime SAR Co-ordinator. She is now responsible for the response, co-ordination, and logistical completion of Search and Rescue incidents throughout the Great Lakes and Arctic.
